Cloth or disposable diapers?
Wondering which one to go with?
Each of your friends keep telling you something totally different and you are just more confused and can’t decide.
Welcome to the Big Diaper Debate!
We’ll help you to choose.
There are a few key components you have to consider and based on them it will be easier to decide.
1.PRICE
An average set of cloth diapers including covers can cost you anywhere from $350 up to $800. Also don’t forget the added cost of cloth wipes or a cloth diaper laundering service which can increase the overall price.
Disposables are definitely less of an investment up front, but a greater cost overall. A typical family spends around $2000-$3000 per baby for two years.
2. CONVENIENCE & TIME
Today cloth diapers come with snap closures or velcro, so forget any complicated folds or pins our grandmas had to deal with. Cloth diapers also mean 2 or 3 extra loads of laundry a week. With each change you go through a whole diaper, so buying biodegradable disposable liners is a good idea. With their help poop can be picked up and easily dumped into the toilet for flushing, saving time and minimizing mess.

Disposable diapers are definitely the more convenient choice out of these too. If you are very busy and don’t have any extra time on hands, then the choice is clear. They are also more absorbent, so you don’t have to change them as often as cloth ones.
3. ENVIROMENT
This is not as clear as you might think. Disposables use resources like trees and plastics during manufacturing. On the other hand while washing cloth diapers a lot of water and energy is used up.
Hope we helped you to decide. Whether you choose cloth or disposable diapers, it’s only up to you. Only you know what works best for you.
Good luck! You’re gonna be a great parent!
