You are tired.
You are sleepy.
And you feel like you just might loose it every second now.
But your little bundle of joy just won’t fall asleep. You’re starting to get worried and feel like the worst mom ever.
Does this sound familiar to you?
This is pretty much how I felt before I learnt some tricks to put my baby to sleep in a few minutes. Trust me, I was a wreck.
I searched for hours and hours on various websites and tried about almost everything there was available. And guess what? Some of those tips actually worked for me!
Here is the list of things that helped me to put my baby to sleep and enjoy some of it myself during the night.
1. SWADDLE YOUR BABY
Swaddling prevents your newborn baby from startling herself awake with random arm movements which is often the case why the baby wakes up during the night in the first place and starts crying. Also it reduces the rate of SIDS!
2.PLAY LULLABIES OR SING TO YOUR BABY
Playing lullabies at nighttime will help your baby associate the sounds with sleeping. Soothing your baby with lullabies or singing is an excellent idea, but turn it off before the child falls asleep. If you play the lullabies until your baby is asleep you risk developing a habit.
3.ESSENTIAL OILS
Diffusing a drop or two of a Lavender and Roman Chamomille oil has been a big game changer for us! These two oils are known for helping to promote relaxation and baby sleep.
4.BOUNCE BABY DOWN
Sit on an exercise ball with your baby in your arms, and gently bounce up and down. This movement mimics the movement of the womb and can be very soothing to a baby.
5.BABY SLEEP MIRACLE

6.CHECK THE TEMPERATURE
Often a reason why babies can’t fall asleep is because they are too hot. I have to admit as a new parent I had the tendencies to overdress my baby because I was scared that she’s going to feel cold or get sick. Well, guess what? Our pediatrician told me that a cooler room and a warm bed is the best enviroment for sleeping. Since we started following that rule our baby sleeps much more peacefully during the night.
7.PACIFIER
A lot of parents forget about this teeny tiny thing which many times can be helpful! It’ a very effective baby sleeping tool. It helps your baby to fall and stay asleep.
Babies can be taught. You just have to be open to try new things and working with your baby’s unique personality. However, if none of these steps worked for you, I have some more tips in store for you – soothe your crying baby with these easy tips. It takes a lot of time and patience, but trust me- you will find a way to put your baby to sleep.
